25 Aug Trust Jesus Mental Health Foundation Organises Free Health Screening at Amazing Grace SDA Church
PANTANG, ACCRA — 11TH SEPTEMBER 2021
The Trust Jesus Mental Health Foundation, in collaboration with the Adventist Health Association, organised a free health screening exercise for residents living in and around Pantang Hospital and its environs, as well as members of the Amazing Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The exercise, held on 11th September 2021 at the Amazing Grace SDA Church, Pantang Hospital, brought together community members who took advantage of the opportunity to access a range of essential health screening services at no cost.
Participants were screened for a variety of health conditions and underwent several medical checks, including blood pressure (B/P) monitoring, body mass index (BMI) assessment, diabetes and blood sugar testing, including fasting and random blood sugar tests (FBS/RBS), malaria testing, Hepatitis B screening, HIV testing, ultrasound scanning, electrocardiogram (ECG) examinations and breast screening, among other services.
The initiative was aimed at promoting early detection of health conditions and encouraging members of the community to take their health seriously. The organisers also used the opportunity to remind participants that maintaining good physical health is closely connected to overall well-being, including mental health.
Residents and church members who benefited from the exercise expressed their appreciation to the Trust Jesus Mental Health Foundation and the Adventist Health Association for bringing the free screening exercise to their doorstep. Many participants described the initiative as timely and beneficial, particularly because it gave them the opportunity to know their health status without having to bear the cost of the various screenings.
The President of the Trust Jesus Mental Health Foundation, Madam Mary Wormenor, expressed her gratitude to the Adventist Health Association for partnering with the Foundation to make the exercise possible. She also thanked the leadership and members of Amazing Grace SDA Church for providing their premises and supporting the initiative.
Madam Wormenor explained that the health screening formed part of the Foundation’s corporate social responsibility to society, emphasising the Foundation’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being within communities.
She encouraged the public to make regular health checks a priority and to seek medical attention whenever necessary. She further stressed that people should not neglect their mental health, noting that good health goes beyond the absence of physical illness.
The Trust Jesus Mental Health Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote health awareness, early detection, community support and improved quality of life, while encouraging individuals and families to make both their physical and mental health a priority.
